(54) METHOD FOR DETECTING AND SELECTING STRESS-RESISTANT ANIMALS

FIELD: animal breeding. SUBSTANCE: method involves performing first testing of animals in group of 5-10 specimens 14-16 hours after feeding; providing second testing in 2-4 days, 1-2 h after feeding; determining intravarietal distribution of animals in behavioral classes; providing the same additional double testing of these animals in 4-5 days, but on the basis of individual testing of each animal for 3-5 min to determine intravarietal distribution of animals in behavioral classes; comparing obtained distributions for acquiring characteristics of breed structure by particular behavior type depending on modifying effects of zoological-social medium (group/individual) and for detecting animals persistently retaining behavior mark of 3-3 to select them for further breeding. Method may be used for detecting and selecting animals of different kinds/breeds and for precise determining of animal's combat behavior with respect to human being. EFFECT: wider range of employing the method and increased precision in determining animal's behavioral characteristics. 4 cl, 5 tbl, 2 ex.
