(54) METHOD OF AMMONIA CONVERSION
(57) FIELD: high-temperature catalytic conversion of ammonia by means of double-stage catalytic system with first stage consisting of layer of screens made from alloys containing platinoids and second stage consisting of catalyst non containing noble metals; manufacture of nitric and hydrocyanic acids and hydroxylamine sulfate. SUBSTANCE: reaction gas mixture containing ammonia and oxygen-containing gas is passed through double-stage catalytic system with first stage (in way of gas flow) made in form of platinoid screens and second stage made in form of layer of catalyst of honeycomb regular structure at ratio of hydraulic resistance of second stage of catalytic system to hydraulic resistance of first stage ranging from 0.2 to 0.4. Porosity of catalyst of honeycomb structure characterizing the volume of voids or exposed is equal to 0.1 to 0.6 and layers of honeycomb catalyst are separated in space. EFFECT: increased output of target product; reduced losses of platinoids. 10 cl, 5 ex.
